COVID-19 Vaccine Information

COVID-19 Vaccine FAQS

Is Manchester requiring me to get the COVID vaccine?
As of May 20, 2021, it is strongly recommended but not required. Receiving the vaccine is a way to keep our community safe and return to normalcy on campus and open up athletics and other events to larger audiences.

Can I move to campus with one round of the vaccine and get the second dose after I arrive?
We recommend that students complete the vaccine requirements prior to their arrival on campus. We anticipate that the vaccine may be available on campus, but may be limited in availability and type. However, you can move in after the first dose with the assumption you will complete the second dose.

If I am vaccinated, do I still have to quarantine after direct exposure?
No. The CDC has issued new guidelines for vaccinated individuals that can be found here.

If I am vaccinated, do I still have to be COVID tested?
Testing will still be available for symptomatic individuals. Those participating in athletics or other campus events and programming who are vaccinated will not require testing.

How do I let the school know that I have been vaccinated?
You can upload your vaccine card to your Med+Proctor account or email healthservices@ngskmc-eis.net .

Do I still have to wear a mask if I have been vaccinated?
Based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are requiring masks for everyone, regardless of your vaccination status, except when you are outdoors, in your own residence hall room or while you are eating.

What does it mean if I'm fully vaccinated

Based on guidance from the CDC, fully COVID-19 vaccinated students and employees will no longer be required to quarantine following an exposure to someone with COVID-19 as long as they remain asymptomatic. In addition, fully vaccinated students and employees are no longer part of asymptomatic surveillance testing.

To be fully vaccinated, you will need to meet the following:

  • If you get a COVID-19 vaccine that requires two shots, you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your second shot. Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines require two shots.
  • If you get a COVID-19 vaccine that requires one shot, you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your shot. Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine requires only one shot.
